Self-Help For Increased Anxiety

There are self-help strategies and treatments that can be effective with anxiety or depression.

 
 

Behavioral Health Counseling

Behavioral health care providers can provide services by phone and/or secure videoconferencing, so they will be able to maintain physical distancing.

If you don’t know where to start, reach out to your primary care physician or call your health or behavioral health insurer or Employee Assistance Program.

The Mom Support Group – Peer-Led

Offered through Zoom for a peer-led conversation. You’ll have the chance to talk, listen, discover coping techniques, and develop a mindfulness practice – all with the support of other moms. Participation is free. The Bloom Foundation

Postpartum Support International – Peer-Led

Pregnancy or Postpartum Support offered through Support Groups Central. Participation is free - donations are accepted.

Group Peer Support (GPS) – Emergency Perinatal Support Program and Free Support Groups

Offering support groups for parents, frontline workers, mental health and social service providers, teachers, communities of color, people in recovery as well as more general groups. Group Peer Support

 

The Prenatal Yoga Project

Free online prenatal yoga classes for women who self-identify as women of color offered via Zoom every Tuesday evening from 6:15 PM PST-7:30 PM PST. Learn more here.

Sista Afya Community Mental Wellness

Sista Afya offers low-cost monthly support groups, group therapy & workshops under $35/session and free community-wide events that support Black women throughout their healing journey. They primarily serve young adult Black women between ages 18-35 and secondarily serve women ages 35+. Sista Afya Community Mental Wellness, believes that together, Black women across the African Diaspora can sustain mental wellness through connecting to resources and supporting one another. Peanut App

New App Connects Local Moms: The complimentary Peanut app is a location-based app that works like a dating app and will introduce you to other mothers in your area based on your top interest, your kids’ age, and distance from one another. In the app, you can also ask questions to a community and plan meetups using their forum feature. You can link your Facebook or Instagram accounts, so you and the moms you meet can follow each other and get to know each other a bit better on social media.
