Our Story
The Blue Dot began with a simple idea.
What if support was visible before someone had to ask for it?
Perinatal mental health affects millions of parents, yet so much of the struggle remains unseen. Too often, parents move through pregnancy and early parenthood carrying fear, grief, anxiety, or trauma in silence — believing they are alone, or that what they’re feeling doesn’t count.
The Blue Dot was created to change that.
Like the pink ribbon for breast cancer, the blue dot is a shared symbol, not trademarked — a quiet but powerful signal of recognition, solidarity, and care. When you see the blue dot, it means perinatal mental health matters. It means support exists. It means no parent has to go through this alone.
Displayed on a pin, a door, a badge, a post, or a storefront, the blue dot turns everyday spaces into moments of connection. It invites conversation. It reduces stigma. It helps make the invisible visible.
The Blue Dot is an initiative of Postpartum Support International, grounded in decades of advocacy, education, and direct support for parents worldwide. But this movement belongs to everyone — parents, partners, providers, allies, and communities — who believe that mental health care and compassion should be part of every parent’s experience.
One dot at a time, we’re building a global language of solidarity.
